Every receipt counts.

Bookkeeping built on the law of Curaçao.

OB returns, art. 44 invoices, your bank and your compliance calendar in one system. For business owners, and for the bookkeeping practices that help them.

Works in XCG · knows the Curaçao public holidays · your data in Amsterdam

Who it is for

For anybody who has to keep books on Curaçao

Bon Buku knows the difference between an eenmanszaak and a B.V., and adjusts the accounts, the calendar and the deadlines accordingly. You do not have to build the law yourself.

Eenmanszaak and V.O.F.

You keep your own books, or you want your bookkeeper to be able to check them without a fuss. Owner's drawings and contributions are already there.

B.V. and N.V.

Invoices, OB, bank, and the figures your accountant needs for the jaarrekening under BW art. 2:15.

Bookkeeping practices

Several clients, each in their own walled-off set of books, and one overview of what has to happen for whom.

What it does

Everything your books need, and nothing the law means differently

Every part posts to the same general ledger. That is why your OB return always ties back to your bookkeeping.

Art. 44 invoices

Every required field, a number with no gaps, FACTUUR and KOPIE FACTUUR, and the OB in XCG — even on an invoice in dollars.

Your OB return, ready

Out of your entries, per rate, with nil returns, and every figure traceable to the posting that made it.

Compliance calendar

The 15th of the month, moved to the next working day, taking every Curaçao public holiday into account.

Import and reconcile your bank

Import your MCB statement. Bon Buku proposes the entry; you approve it. Exchange differences are posted automatically.

Purchases and receipts

Photograph a receipt with your phone. OB on purchases is posted as a cost, because on Curaçao you cannot deduct it.

Daily takings from your till

Your Shopify POS turnover lands in your books day by day, per rate and per cost centre.

Reports

Balance sheet, profit and loss account, trial balance and general ledger, at any date, exportable for your accountant.

Nothing disappears

You do not quietly change a posted entry. You correct it with a reversal or a credit note, so everything stays traceable.

Payroll

Wage tax and premiums for 2026, including the youth exemption of Lei di Bion. The verzamelloonstaat is still to come.

Why Bon Buku

Built for here, not adapted for here

OB is not VAT
On Curaçao you cannot deduct the OB you pay on purchases. A package built for VAT posts it as a receivable. Bon Buku posts it as a cost, the way the law intends.
Your deadlines on time
Karnavalsmaandag, Dia di Pais Kòrsou, Koninkrijksdag: the calendar knows them and moves your deadline with them. A month with no turnover still gets its nil return.
An invoice that is correct
Bon Buku refuses to issue an invoice while a required field from art. 44 lid 5 is missing. Better a message now than a correction later.
Your data in Amsterdam
The server is in the EU. CRIB numbers and bank account numbers are stored encrypted and masked on screen.

OB in XCG: Cg 9.99 (rate 1 USD = 1.79 XCG, a fixed peg). That is how it appears on every invoice in a foreign currency, as art. 44 lid 7 requires.

Switching

From QuickBooks or Excel to Bon Buku, on 1 January

A clean start at the beginning of the financial year. You keep your old years as an export: the ten-year retention is about being readable, not about staying in the same package.

Set up your company

Legal form, CRIB, KvK and SVB. Bon Buku explains why it asks each question and where to find the answer.

Enter your opening balance

Download the chart of accounts as a template, fill it in from your old package and import it. A balance that does not balance is refused, not written off.

Get on with the work

Import your bank, write your invoices, and watch your OB return build itself. Your bookkeeper looks on with a login of their own.

Pricing

One fixed price a month, with no surprises

Every plan has all the statutory features. You pay for the size of your business, not for the compliance.

Questions

What business owners ask us

Is OB the same as VAT?

No. On Curaçao the omzetbelasting is a turnover tax with no deduction of input tax. The OB you pay on purchases is a cost. Bon Buku therefore posts it to an expense account and never as a receivable.

Can I switch from QuickBooks?

Yes. You bring your opening balance across as at 1 January using a template. You export your old years from QuickBooks and keep them for ten years, as ALL art. 43 requires.

Does Bon Buku file my return?

No. The tax authority's portal has no integration. Bon Buku prepares your return, with every figure traceable to your entries, so you can copy it across in a few minutes. You then mark it as filed.

Does it work with my till?

Bon Buku reads the daily takings from Shopify POS. It does not issue kassabonnen itself. Whether your business needs an approved fiscal register depends on what you do; for hospitality it is the rule. Ask your accountant.

Do I have to keep my paper receipts?

A scan may replace the paper under conditions (BW art. 2:15 lid 4 and art. 3:15i): scanned completely and legibly, and accessible for ten years. The balance sheet signed on paper and original deeds you do keep.

Where is my data?

On a server in Amsterdam, inside the EU. CRIB and bank account numbers are stored encrypted. Every set of books is walled off from every other one in the database itself.

Can my bookkeeper look on?

Yes, with a login of their own on your books. You decide which role they get.

Does Bon Buku do payroll?

That is in development. The calculation of wage tax and premiums for 2026 is there, including the youth exemption of Lei di Bion. The verzamelloonstaat is still to come.

And my income tax?

That is not in the calendar yet. For now, put that deadline in your own diary. We would rather say so than let an empty space look like completeness.

When can I start?
