Hospitality
Your till sits apart from your books, the day's takings have to go in every day, and you run two OB rates at once.
Two rates on one day
Admission and food and drink consumed on the premises fall under a different rate than merchandise off the shelf. Bon Buku keeps them apart on the invoice and in the return, and totals per rate — not per line, which gives a different answer.
The day, not the receipts
One turnover line per day per sales channel, read in from Shopify POS. Your books know your day; they do not have to count it again.
Photograph the receipts
Photograph a purchase receipt and attach it to the entry. The OB on it is a cost and not a deduction, and Bon Buku books it that way.
The fifteenth, holidays included
Your OB return is due within fifteen days of the month, moving on when that day is a weekend or a Curaçao public holiday. A month with no turnover still gets its nil return.
Bon Buku is not a till
It issues no receipts, deliberately. Whether your business needs an approved sealed register depends on what you do — ask your accountant. What Bon Buku does is read your daily takings and make an entry of them.
The OB rates that go with this
These percentages and descriptions come from the same table Bon Buku works your invoices and your return out with.
| 9% | Increased rate |
| 6% | General rate |
Which rate applies to your turnover depends on what you sell, not on which trade you are in. If in doubt, ask your accountant.
